Our front entry has become an ongoing project, combining our love of photography with wanting to include the people who have inspired us, it is a simple reminder every day to why we love what what we do. - “Live what you Love”

We are grateful to have an amazing group of friends, family and neighbours. Recently we held a portrait party to celebrate just that, photograph the people who inspire us and share the love that comes with giving a portait.

With our second year of volunteering at HELP PORTRAIT DTES, we see the greatest value comes out of sharing the message behind this great cause in person, an opportunity of making our parties a place where we can share in person.

Living in Gastown, we are grateful to be surrounded by creatives, entrepreneurs and an endless list of amazing talents. The evening was a great turn out, we had over a 100 people in our home with less than a week’s notice (the power of facebook) … out of 59 portraits we collected 14 pairs of socks + 23 pairs of gloves + 25 touques + 2 scarves for Help Portrait :: *** to continue our support will will gather again - please help us by spreading the word.

WOODVALLEY ROAD RESIDENCE, WEST VANCOUVER

The above dining table was custom designed for my client in collaboration with Christian Woo. A perfect pairing with the Issa dining chair made in Japan by artisan workshop Hokurei Kohsho. The layering of materials, black walnut detailed with black steel and complimented with black soft high grade leather all lit by the hammered black brass Beat pendants by Tom Dixon. In the background a walnut original art feature by Sabina Hill. Further in the background the original hand carved doors flank the entry. I am honoured to work with an amazing client who has an appreciation for craft and attention to detail. All in one room you can see the talent of many. Bringing together the details to create a space for family who is placing their roots on the west coast has been a lovely experience. This room is one that I was happy to help bring together.

Gaile Guevara - An interior designer based in Vancouver, BC. with an extensive background in residential multi-family projects working with high-end developers to a more recent focus of working with private clients who are renovating or building new homes. An interior designer by profession that brings her passion for design and a love of connecting clients with creative talent into each project.

Gaile comes with over 12 years of experience in residential interior design, along the way she has also worked on large scale project proposals in commercial, office and retail concepts.

With the increase of online social media and networks, her more recent accomplishments includes an online following of over 315,000 followers on curated image sites like pinterest to over 6 million page views on flickr. Gaile’s efforts on line is to create a platform of discussion and a better awareness to good design for audiences in Canada as well internationally. Her passion for design extends into styling for magazines, to social media consulting as well an ongoing photography exploration outside of being a designer.

In 2013, Gaile will be working with MODERN604 in collaboration with the IDS West Show in Vancouver to showcase the Laneway Home Feature @ IDSwest. Her passion & commitment includes participating with the steering committee to curate a series of unique special events throughout her local Gastown neighbourhood to bring awareness to "Design Matters and can make a difference".
