Job Role
An award winning boutique interior design studio focused on innovative, high-end residential projects is currently seeking a highly talented and creative Intermediate Designer with at least 4-7 years of commercial and residential experience.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of design detailing and a modern yet timeless aesthetic. You approach design from a holistic perspective to create spaces that improve the quality of an individual's experience. You are loyal, solution-oriented and mindful.

Responsibilities:
  • Create and monitor work plans, schedules, drawing lists, scope of services and budgets
  • Review and monitor project scope
  • Contribute to the design development process including creation of concepts, generation of presentation material
  • Research and prepare project specification packages
  • Participate in consultant coordination process
  • Assist in design/production meetings
  • Participate in client and public meetings
  • Properly maintain project records
  • Conduct shop drawing reviews

Skills + Requirements:
  • Minimum of 4-7 years Canadian design experience
  • Degree or Diploma from accredited interior design program
  • Mandatory software proficiency: Vectorworks. Extremely proficient with AutoCAD, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Google Docs, Dropbox
  • Articulate communicator (both verbal and written), excellent listener
  • Exemplary client relationship skills and strong relationship builder/networker
  • Strong presentation and graphic skills
  • Polished appearance and phone manner
  • Confident public speaker
  • Proven leadership qualities, productive delegator
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Superb design and detailing skills, ability to prepare conceptual sketches by hand and on computer
  • Comprehensive knowledge of materials applications and detailing
  • Knowledge of construction and construction administration process
  • Excellent space planning and layout development skills

Job Role
The Senior CAD Technologist performs a variety of production tasks to prepare design documents needed to take a space from original concept to completion. In addition to managing the production team, this individual will provide mentorship guidance and direction to less experienced team members. The ideal candidate is loyal, solution-oriented and approaches design from a holistic perspective.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and prepare design development drawings for interiors and custom furniture
  • Ensure coordination of consultant documentation with respect to project criteria, client program, drawings and specifications
  • Orchestrate and manage the preparation of a complete set of construction drawings suitable for permit, tender and construction: plans, elevations, details, millwork details
  • Direct the preparation of tender documents
  • Direct the assembly, circulation, and filing of project documents
  • Responsible for the accuracy, quality, and completeness of finished drawing packages
  • Resolve drawing production problems if they arise
  • Lead production meetings

Skills + Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 – 8 years Canadian design experience working in an interior design firm
  • Degree or Diploma in Architecture or Building Construction Technology from accredited institution
  • Mandatory software proficiency: Vectorworks. High degree of skill, accuracy, and speed in AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
  • Articulate communicator (both verbal and written), excellent listener
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Superb design and detailing skills, ability to prepare conceptual sketches by hand and on computer
